What are you thinking about when you’re leading worship?

• Many times we are thinking about the right notes, the right words, not messing up… etc.

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

But what SHOULD be on our minds?

• The God we are worshipping.

• The message of the song.

• How it personally effects you.

• What God is doing in YOUR life at the moment.

• What God is doing in the lives of people.

• The thought that we are TOGETHER before the throne worshipping a Holy God.

How do we take captive our thoughts while leading worship?

• Have a good grasp of the material…

• Be Prayed up…

• Daily time in God’s presence.

  • Worshipping God without the “extras” is essential to keeping our hearts right with the “extras.”

• Intercession. This is how our heart grows for people. The more we pray for people, the more our heart breaks for people.

• For the rest of our lives keep repeating… “It’s not about me!”
